Polarimetric Decomposition With an Urban Area Descriptor for Compact Polarimetric SAR Data

The compact polarimetric (CP) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can alleviate the drawbacks of fully (FP) SAR and provide more target information as compared to conventional single dual mode. However, present decomposition methods for CP have problem overestimation volume scattering (OVS) among urban areas, especially obliquely oriented buildings (OOBs). OVS cause considerable which leads misinterpretation mechanism. In this paper, a new descriptor OOBs is introduced reduce in areas. And model-based method, applicable both /4 mode CTLR mode, proposed based on descriptor. Radarsat-2 FP data used simulate validate our algorithm. method improves double-bounce component different types areas by about 10%.
